I’ve dedicated this portion of my blog to my love of literature.
I’ll share books, book club collection along with a detailed summary.
Welcome to my personal book library!
the subtle art of not giving a FUCK
by: mark manson
Mark Manson will forever be one of my favorite authors. The first time I picked up his book, I was only 16 years old (I was way too young to be reading his work). The things that I learned from this book helped me regulate myself through some tough times in my life. This book provides a mix of tough love and practical thinking.

“Parable of the sower”
by: octavia butler
- The “Parable of the Sower” was one of the books in my summer rotation last year. If Octavia Butler were born around the time of the Salem witch trials, she would be burned at the stake. This book foreshadowed many of the political issues we face today. After reading, I was left questioning my position in this world.

“Between the world and me”
by: Ta-nehisi coates
- Every time I talk about this book, I say that God put it in my path. I remember walking into the library, where books were on sale for cents and pennies. I found the hardcover of the book and paid less than a dollar for it. From the moment I picked this book up, I couldn’t put it down. By the time I was down, I felt this overwhelming feeling of empathy for the Black diaspora. An overwhelming feeling that maybe there is hope for the future if we share our stories with the next generation.

“Grow the f*ck up”
By: sarah knight

- This book fell into my lap before I moved to Tallahassee for school. I read the first four chapters and left them at home. When I moved back, I found it while cleaning. Sarah Knights holds you completely accountable for your goals, life, and happiness in this book. The truth that she speaks in this book is bitter but essential.
